How to measure your product

Measure as of below if you want your blind to fit inside the window recess.

Measure in 3 Places - Measure the window recess in 3 places for both width and drop and choose the smallest measurement of the recess.
Do not make any deductions - as you have measured for inside recess we will make the deductions so your blind will fit perfectly.
When Ordering - When placing your order you will enter the smallest measurements for width and drop into our website and choose the "Recess" option as you have measured for a recess fitting
Top Tip- always use a quality steel tape measure for accurate measuring.

Measure as of below if you want your blind to hang outside the window recess so it overlaps the window.

Measure the exact width of the area whereyou would like the blind to cover and we recommend to overlap by 6 cm extra on both sides and 7 cm at the top to allowfor overlap .
The overlap at the bottom- would be up to yourself as it is personal choice on where you want the bottom of the blind to finish.
When Ordering -When placing your order you will enter the measurements you require for the width and drop into our website and choose the "Exact Blind Size" option as you have measured and want your blind to be made to your exact sizes. Remember you are ordering a Blind so the full product bracket to bracket not just the fabric part of the blind.
Top Tip- always use a quality steel tape measure for accurate measuring.

How to fit your product

Important Notes

A product which requires the exact width to be typed in the box is 'Made-to-Measure' and cannot be returned under our normal terms and conditions.

The blinds are easily fitted using universal brackets which can be face fixed to the window or wall or top fixed. All necessary brackets and fittings are included.

We take the well-being of children very seriously at Blinds Direct, which is why all our blinds come supplied with a child safety device to ensure all our cords can be safely secured to the wall, further preventing the risk of strangulation by loose cords or chains. Each blind will be supplied with a maximum chain length of one metre to make sure that they will be out of the reach of small children. If you require a chain length of longer than one metre, please contact us as soon as you have placed your order. Conditions will still apply in accordance with child safety regulations.

We advise against fitting this type of product in a bay window. This is because the fabric width will be cut narrower than the size ordered

Child Safety

We take the safety and well-being of children very seriously. That's why all of our blinds are supplied with a child safety device, which ensures cords and chains are safely secured to the wall, preventing the risk of strangulation. Each blind is manufactured with a maximum chain length of one metre, keeping it out of reach of small children. If you require a chain longer than one metre, please contact us when you have placed your order. Conditions will still apply in accordance with child safety regulations.
